Those Were The Days

Every now and again we get ‘memories’ flagged up on social media, one such memory arrived today. Taken in Belfast in 1991 it shows myself and WOII Dave Neal, as he was then, about to leave for the Royal Hampshires Warrant Officers Lunch.
Dave was my ex brother-in-law but we remained friends and he invited me as his guest. This wasn’t any old lunch but formed part of the selection process for the new Regimental Sergeant Major.

Some months later after they had finished their tour I learnt that Dave had been selected and promoted.

Never seen him since!
