The sun came out as we ate our picnic lunch, and it felt quite Spring like!

In order to remember Holocaust Memorial Day, ( 6,000,000 Jews were killed ) I have bought a book by Thomas Geve called 'The Boy who drew Auschwitz'.

When Thomas was 13 years old, he was separated from his mother and imprisoned for 22 months in the men's camp at Auschwitz. He managed to draw 80 pictures of life in the camp.
I am looking forward to reading his book and seeing his pictures.

It will make me realise just how lucky we are to have avoided being imprisoned in Auschwitz...
