Up, up and away!

A few weeks ago, two young swans and a cygnet arrived at Strichen lake.
They seemed to be quite timid.
However, a couple of days ago, another couple of swans appeared.
Today, we went for a walk and at first we could only see the two adult swans.
However, the cygnet appeared and it was obvious the recent arrivals were intent on chasing away the cygnet. They hounded him up and down the lake three or four times, their feathers all blown up, sometimes swimming, sometimes flying.
I really felt for the cygnet but there was nothing I could do.
Finally the cygnet took to the air properly and flew off into the distance.
I hope he has a safe landing.
