Stalkers

This pair of kites (please correct me if wrong) spend almost the whole day observing us from these dead trees just 30 meters from the chicken run, occasionally swooping down to collect a dried branch from the horse field for their nest. Three times one of them was no more than 15 meters away on the ground but I didn't have the camera!
Last week we lost 2 chickens but I am sure the kites are not responsible. We have had a pair nest behind the house the last 3 years, this year they have to build a new nest as the old one's tree fell victim to the chainsaw. Sadly, as we could see in to the nest from the upstairs windows.
Thanks to a comment from Miss Winterfinch, here the old nest - didn't have a super zoom then.
