Piercebridge

We headed home via Piercebridge. The second time we have visited the remains of this Roman bridge across the River Tees. It provided a nice bit of circularity after Aldborough on Monday.
After this we crossed back over the road bridge and I waited in the car while Mr EAnn went to have a look at the excavated remains of the Roman Fort on the North bank. I’ve not been to see this but it will wait for another day.
All in all a great few days. Still very glad we celebrate twice a year and have a great reason to chase away the winter blues at the end of January.
