Chips
Today’s highlight was meeting Junior for lunch in Dunfermline. He often works weekends too, so midweek usually suits him.
It was a good lunch - Indian but they have a tapas style menu at lunchtime so we each had 3 small dishes, plus bread and rice.
Going for a haircut counts as a highlight these days as well. I remember when we all went months without one during 2020. I also enjoy 25 minutes of conversation with people who have a totally different perspective from which to observe things like the pandemic and the political situation, and then finding our views come close to being the same.
Or maybe they are humouring me…
The day had started badly, after I woke at 4am (nightmare) and having to get up 45 minutes later because I could not get back to sleep.
Then I chipped a tooth eating breakfast.
Oh well, it must be almost 6 weeks since I was at the dentist.
I was finalising some laundry when I decided a glass of something would be a good idea - a Saperavi from a vineyard in Gurjaani, in the Alazari Valley just east of Tbilisi. I must have driven through Gurjaani when I was in that area in 2019.
