THE BYRDS (Untitled)

By 1971, The Byrds, through constant touring had earned their spurs as a live band. Only one member, Roger McGuinn, remained from the original group which was notorious for putting on lackadaisical shows. But with the brilliant Clarence White on guitar and a solid rhythm section, the latter day Byrds could kick ass, as they say. This double album captures them at their best – one live LP and one studio disc. I’ve loved this record since the early seventies. It’s my favourite Byrds album. As well as new versions of classic Byrds songs, there is the wonderful Chestnut Mare.
