Not sure what the purpose of these pipes is…

… but they don’t seem to be connected nor able to be connected since the lower one has a cap on it. Just another mystery.
This was a fairly short walk as advised by my GP though I really fail to see how she can give an informed diagnosis when neither she nor any other medic has ever looked at my knee.
