have you found it yet?

Mr and Mrs Finch were looking every which way, in unison, as if trying to figure out where a certain sound was coming from. Then all of a sudden Mr. Finch looked up at the Missus, as if to ask if she had figured it out yet. Then off he flew, leaving her behind.
Were they really listening for something? Did he figure it out, or just get bored?
Or was he trying to start something with the missus and got rebuffed?
