Glasgow School of Art- fire report

The long overdue fire report on the 2018 Glasgow School of Art is published today.
 
Unfortunately they came to no conclusion about the cause of the fire except to say that they could not dismiss the possibility of an electrical fault or wilful fire raising.
 
( My own theory is that the college had refused to pay “fire protection” money.)
 
Like many alumni of the college I have fond memories of time spent in the “The Mac” as it was known.  One project in first term was to draw from the collection of plaster cast figures. And the drawings had to be life size. 
 
Fortunately most of these sculptures were saved because they were off –site following the first fire.
