One of the benefits of living near to the botanic gardens is the opportunity to conduct frequent visits and see different things each time.

I hope you are able to read this information board. Seeds taken from trees which have regenerated after the Hiroshima atomic bomb were gifted to the Botanics by the Japanese people. It’s remarkable ..that these organisms survived. Planting this tree can surely be seen both as a symbol of futility of modern warfare and solidarity between the Scottish and Japanese people.
