A sunny afternoon in Dinant

It's been absolutely gorgeous today - the sun's been shining and it actually reached 11 degrees!

I went to Zumba this morning, and then this afternoon we drove to Dinant which is a lovely little town on the banks of the River Meuse. Above the town is a fortified Citadel which was built in the 11th Century, and which can be accessed by a cable car. We didn't go up there today, but I have done before and the views are fantastic.

We had an unplanned lunch sat out in the sun, and then had a walk along the river. This photo is taken looking across the river and you can see the Citadel high up above the Collegiate Church of Notre-Dame. It looks better viewed large.

Dinant is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax who invented the Saxophone, and the bridge over the river is lined with individually painted Saxophones. I've put a photo of my favourite in my blipfolio.

We've had a really lovely afternoon - hope you're having a good one too, and fingers crossed this is finally the start of Spring!
