Buds

So the Mama deer and her almost one year old youngster showed up again this morning. Mama had a few bites (pictured), but was mostly hoovering up peanuts while the young one was eating the little swollen buds off the stems of a limb of our maple that had broken off and fallen in the front yard under the tree. And off of which The Husband had cut the larger pieces, but left the smaller bits lying there - basically frozen in place, at the moment. So that's part of what the deer find to eat in the winter, I guess!
