What's my line?

Practising calligraphy today so my pens are the subject of the MM Still Life challenge. Thinking about it should there be a bowl of fruit nearby? Are there rules for still life? I've added an extra because the wood of Patrick's bureau looks warm and shiny before I put it through the  monochrome processor
