Above the Mist

Just had to get above the freezing “brume” or mist, this afternoon. It was so warm up on the Grand Chamossaire in the sunshine which is great for the bouquetin and chamois but they are almost impossible to spot on the dry grass where the snow has melted. Rather liked the olden days, sepia effect. This scene hasn’t changed much for the last 10,000 years when the last ice age terminated. Then, where the mist lies, it was a huge glacier. It is probable that all Alpine glaciers will disappear by the end of this century with the current global warming effect. This is a scary Vimeo simulation showing the last 115,000 years of advance and retreat of Alpine glaciers if you are interested.

Thanks for the presents for yesterday’s ice art too.
