Mono Monday - Still Life
The scales are probably fifty years old and there's rust on the face.
They came with Carl and have been used more for parcels than anything else, but they are much more appealing than the digital ones.
Before widespread use of computers and email, editors were very dependent on the postal service and most days a manuscript was sent or received.
Carl was pretty good at guessing weights, but it was always best to confirm before heading off to the post office.
