Marine Stadium Long Beach, CA

The Marine Stadium was acquired in 1923, dredged in 1925 and expanded in 1932 to host the Rowing Events for the 1932 Summer Olympics, and, 36 years later, the Olympic Rowing Trials for the Mexico summer games in 1968. My personal connection to this place is that my dad was born and raised a few blocks from here. We would go to the Marine Stadium to watch the rowing competitions and speed boat races that continue to this day.
