Kintulammi

We had lovely Sunday hike with my sister and brother-in-law in Kintulammi nature reserve in the Teisko-Aitolahti region (about 20 km from Tampere city centre). We had a lunch break by one of the fire pits in the area.

In the picture is a glacial erratic called Church Stone. A story tells that the Church Stone has acted as a substitute church for horse herdsmen, because Teisko and Messukylä churches were too far away. Kintulammi area has common history with Hatanpää mansion. In 1777 Tampere reclaimed land from Hatanpää mansion owner Hans Henrik Boije for growth of the town, and gave land from Kintulammi as refund. After that mansion's 50-60 horses started to pasture there.

In the afternoon me and hubby went to give our votes in Finland's first-ever county council elections. (Voters elected delegates to 21 new county councils, which will decide on social, healthcare and rescue services in each wellbeing services county over the next four years.)
Then hubby picked up Emma from Pyrintö's bus, girls had a game in Helsinki.
