Plucky Little Number
I love a collective noun, but what would sum up a beautiful gathering of harps? I had been thinking of maybe a ‘Pluck’ pun, but then I read of the term ‘Glissando’ which is much more classy. The word refers to the harps most beautiful sound created by a continuous glide of the fingers up or down of all its strings.
These were spotted today in the splendid Early Music Shop located in the Bradford-Italianate Salts Mill complex, part of the Saltaire World Heritage Site and model village, designed by industrialist Sir Titus Salt.
Well worth a visit if ever nearby, and not least to see the wonderful (free) David Hockney exhibition, permanently on show.
