Cat among the starlings

I chat to my dad every day to try and help his speech (actual proper NHS speech therapy would be better, but a month on and that’s still not appeared). Today’s random question (from me) was, ‘if you could transform into any animal, what would you be?’. Dad would become a cat, because apparently they seem to have the world running exactly as they want it. He then went onto to tell me about his grandmother’s cat, who was apparently as cantankerous as she was, but who was very useful (the cat, not the old bat) in ridding the house they moved into of the many, many starlings who had decided to take roost beneath the tiled roof.
