Birthday Bash

We knitters had quite a birthday gathering for our friend, C, who turns 90 tomorrow. There is a bottle of hand sanitizer on the table, right next to the chocolate cake, so future generations can see that we knew how to party.  You can tell it's a little brisk in the garden. The wind was the big problem, blowing parts of the redwood tree all over the place, and making it hard to keep everything on the table.  Ah, but a good time was had by all--lots of love and laughter in this group.

The extra is some more mileage I got from the portraits everyone sent me for yesterday's card. I couldn't resist a Groupon for a printed fleece blanket, and there we all are, ready for a cozy evening. It's such a strange, over-the-top, silly thing that somehow it works. It's interesting that half of us wore hats...
