Does this branch make my butt look big?
This was one of those days when I knew, as soon as a snapped the shots, what my blip was going to be. It is so blasted cold outside right now! All the birds are super-fluffed and scarfing down seeds as fast as possible. Usually almost as soon as they land, they fluff out their belly feathers to cover most of their legs and sometimes feet - all part of the master plan to survive. And it looks very endearing and somewhat comical. The bird is a male Dark eyed junco, a species i blipped just a few days ago. This one is much cuter, though.
Jay woke us up at 4:15 this morning. We think what he really wants is to be up on the bed with us (we are a hard no on that - two cats vying for bed space is enough). Hubs always gets up , throws some clothes on and takes him out and he (Jax, not Hubs) always pees, but we don't get the sense that it's a dire situation. After the quick trip outside, Jax wants to curl up on Hubs lap on the sofa and snooze for a few more hours. So, we are going to make some changes to try to break this recent habit, starting with ignoring his whimpers and attempts to get on the bed in the wee hours. Also adjust meal times and change a few things in his sleeping space. Surely two well-educated humans can outsmart one mixed breed mutt! (Famous last words.)
I took said mutt to the park today for a mile walk (it was so stinking cold and windy that both of us were ready to call it a day after a mile). He was very good today and got many rewards for responding to my verbal direction. He's quite the tugger so I am working with him to correct that. Small steps.
Zoom cocktails with my bestie tonight followed by supper prepared by Hubs. Fireplace is blazing and we are bracing for single digits tonight outside so faucets will be left to drip. Have I mentioned that I can't wait for spring???
Dark with almonds today.
