Clapham Village

Another glorious day. We drove a few miles to Clapham village to start our walk. It was only a little over 4 miles and we enjoyed it a lot. What was less enjoyable was the complete lack of places to get some lunch. Ann, who is the local, assumed that the Lake cafe would be open as on her previous few visits, but on a Thursday, they only open 3-6pm which we found a bit weird. The pub and other cafe were both closed so we ended up in the village store. Fancying a packet of scones to bring home, we were out of luck again, so bought some fancy biscuits - crunchy Rhubarb crumbles! Not the healthiest of things but after last nights wine consumption, I don’t think an extra few calories will make a lot of difference.
Tomorrow I’ll be back on the diet!!!
