Anne Frank's Tree
Went for a walk reasonably early (for me) to Batsford Arboretum which is a few miles up the Fosse Way from where we live and is just outside Moreton-in-Marsh. We are members so often visit.
This time of year the trees and flowers are of course not yet in bloom but there is still always something to catch your eye. Just behind the Anne Frank Tree is a deer park and the residents are red deer and they were close up by the fence today including a stag which has been brought in from Richmond Park to help diversify the gene pool.
I thought that perhaps some might find it interesting to know about the Anne Frank Tree as a lot of us have probably read her diary at some point over the years. I did many years ago and always hoped that it would end differently but deep down knew that it wouldn't.
So nice though to know that the tree somehow lives on here, many miles from it's origins.
Extra is of a pheasant making sure that I didn't come any closer before it scurried off into cover.
