Sacred art tour

A privilege today to be taken, with a couple of friends, on a tour of the Notre Dame de Toute Grâce church in Passy. Consecrated in 1950, it marked the revival of Western sacred art. Father Marie-Alain Couturier persuaded some of the greatest artists to help with the decoration, and we were treated to works by Matisse and Chagall amongst others. Today’s blip shows a beautiful bronze by Jacques Lipchitz, a stained glass window by Georges Rouault and part of the mosaic decorating the outside of the church.
