On top of the world

Today my Grandaughter Emilie and Lacey and I went hiking. Our destination was Oyster Dome and the bat caves. We packed our backpacks with food, water, ponchos and any other ememrgency item you could ask for.
After hours of up hill hiking we ran into a man and asked him how close we were to the bat caves. He informed us that we had hiked in the wrong direction. We had almost made it to Lily lake. He said it was another 1/2 hour hike straight up hill so we decided to turn around and head back to our car. We hiked for 3 1/2 hours ( 6 + miles) with every muscle and bone I own aching. But I have to admit it was one of those days I will never forget.
