Big apple

Jim Watling was an orchardist in the Tallong area near Goulburn. He commissioned this fibreglass apple to adorn his shed. After his death local residents had the apple refurbished, and erected this memorial arch and walkway, with storyboards recording the local history of the area.


This kind of understated community action and civic pride is one of the things we really like about the small country towns we have visited in our travels around Australia.
