Mezze à la Castle Douglas
I head down to Castle Douglas after work with a car full of tools, hifi, and computer. The main task is to get Angus’ case working again - and the working hypothesis is that the main 80A battery fuse has blown.
We get to work by the side of the road in the dark and the drizzle. The fuse is held in by the same screws that secure the cables, and they’re horizontally mounted. We get them off ok, but have to take the battery out to get them back in after replacing the fuse.
While the battery is on charge, we walk into town for something to eat. Somehow we walk right past the Greek restaurant, even though it’s huge, brightly lit, and ostentatiously open - unlike the Indian across the road.
The food is good. There’s some left overs that Angus can take to college for lunch tomorrow.
I stop in Dumfries to put some more juice in the car, and visit the Tesco to kill some time. And then home. It’s late for a work night.
