A spot of lunch
... signature ensalada tropical made by S. The pomegranate seeds add lovely colour and crunch. Followed by steak and tomatoes a la plancha, eaten on the terrace.
A satisfactory day in more ways than one. Wasting no time after S's enquiries yesterday, we were at the Dígame language school at 10 a.m. for a class with Fifi. There's one other person in the class, Michel, who also happens to be French, so it's a good size, and our levels matched very well too. Only an hour long, so it isn't exhausting, and focused on conversation. I think it will work very well. Afterwards, the obligatory coffee with tostadas con tomate to revive us.
Then we went shopping. This was a lengthy process -- the family butcher has a Covid-authorised capacity of two customers, and when we arrived one customer was queuing outside. I don't know what the two ladies inside were up to, but there was a lot of chat going on and we waited a good 20 minutes before S got in. Still, the steak was good and not expensive. Then Lidl, which was heaving. I bought lots of stuff to put in the freezer so we don't have to go too often.
After lunch I took the plunge into the pool. It wasn't bad at all. Forty 5-metre lengths. Followed by a hot shower and a brief sunbathe. Life is good!
