Exploding Bulrush

After watching the wonderful ‘Green Planet’ on Sunday night I decided to find a bulrush, break it and then watch the airborne seeds take off.

The bulrushes in the Heritage Park are not accessible, I wasn’t near Maxwell Park but there are some in Pollok. The majority were standing tall like soldiers but out of reach. One rather puny one was lying over on its side and here it is. I always thought they would feel rough but the brown casing felt just like velvet.
