Bullfinch

While walking through the park with Poppy I met Billy, the bird seed man. We often chat a out what birds we have spotted.

Today he told me that he had spotted a couple of male Bullfinches down by the river. I knew exactly where to look and as Poppy and I walked by the river ..... my eyes looking upward into,the tree tops while Poppy's eyes looked down as she hoped to find so,e dropped crumbs.

We had almost reached the end of the trees and I was just about to give up when I saw a beautiful male right in front of my nose. Two other males were on the higher branches and too far away for a photo. I was more than happy with the photo I did manage to get.

I was able to point the birds out to others who walked by. Fortunately Bullfinches stay around for a while as they nibble away at the young tree buds.
