Nature Diary... Aeoniums
Our Aeoniums Schwarzkopf and Kiwi are doing well this winter in the shelter of a porch. It’s possible for them to overwinter outside but it can be risky. These two have lost a degree of their colouring due to the low amount of sunlight they experience at this time of year. Schwarzkopf in the summer turns a very dark brownish purple, almost black, and the smaller Kiwi will show some yellow amongst its green and the leaves will be beautifully edged with a light red. These two are thriving with almost no attention and in a few more weeks will be going outside again, weather permitting.
In the extras are 3 more photos of these same two plants taken about a year ago.
