Stand-off
OK guys'n'gals you're going to have to just go with me on this one!
Due to the limitations on the optical zoom of my little point and shoot, this is decidedly grainy, but what you've got is a crow (top left) staking out a heron (centreish) who had the audacity to land in "his" tree. Don't know if the crow was protecting a nest but he spent a good 15 minutes objecting loudly and divebombing the heron at every opportunity. The heron looked completely unperturbed...
An excellent day, lecturing at the Uni and then a meeting with a contact resulting in the possibility of an interesting offer... I won't say more for now as more details are required alongside some thinking...however it was a very smiley day. Picked up mum from the city centre and headed up to Alnwick via the Milkhope Centre for a cuppa. An evening of G&S performed by a mass chorus of... 6... followed. The standard of singing was excellent and it was a very enjoyable evening. However, I did raise my eyebrows slightly when the programme said they were going to do the Finale of Pirates to end Act I and HMS Pinafore's finale to end Act II ... it's got to be said these parts were lacking a certain "something" ... usually otherwise known as "at least 20 additional voices!"
Never mind, it was a treat night out and very enjoyable (thanks mum!)
