Puffer

Today's blip, with thanks to Mr T from work, is of the Clyde Puffer MV Kaffir.

A little research was required here and after a bit of digging I found out that she had been delayed in Ayr Harbour by bad weather in September of 1974.

On the 23rd September she was reported as stranded on Euchar Rock after being taken from Ayr Harbour by unauthorised persons.

At the time she was carrying a cargo of 118 tons of coal.

For a few years there were plans to remove the vessel but in November 1982 she was reported as Broken In Two with only the mast visible at high tide.

No more plans were made to remove her.
