Clashganny lock
It was very frosty when we got moving this morning. This photo was taken around midday, and as you can see, lots of frost. But the sun was glorious in a clear blue sky (1st extra).
Clashganny lock is only about 5 miles from our apartment, so after a leisurely start (and an acknowledgement from the Estate Agent, saying he would put our offer to the vendors) we drove the short distance. We parked at the lock, and initially walked upstream a short distance to get into the sun. We then set off to walk a signposted loop, along the banks of the river Barrow, then up into the woods above. We took a diversion to get up to the viewpoint (2nd extra) and came back to the car via the Mass rock (3rd extra). Only 6km, but very enjoyable. Some birds - several robins, blue tits, great tits, and we heard but didn't see a woodpecker.
We then drove into Graiguenamanagh to get a bite to eat and buy a few provisions, and as we were parking up we got an email from the Agent to tell us our offer had been accepted. Woohoo. Still a lot of potential for it all to fall apart, of course. But it's a step.
A quiet late afternoon and evening - some emails to potential conveyancers. We anticipate needing to travel down to Waterford at least once over the next few days.
