Dead Centre
I did brunch with the boys in Balance in Lower Marsh and then went on to the Hogarth and Europe exhibition at Tate Britain with Strider.
Big Ben is half unwrapped now and looking good.
The Hogarth was very good. I only got halfway round; left my newly minted 32 year old as I wanted to hook up with TSM back at Waterloo. I shall go back and finish it next week.
My first ever ride in an electric taxi cab. Lovely smooth ride but the geezer behind the wheel complained about the mileage you get on a single charge. The power source may change but London cabbies don’t …
We went for coffee in The Black Penny. They have taken down the York Road footbridge at Waterloo. Bastards. Been a long time coming apparently.
London was strangely quiet even for a Monday. Did a lot of walking. Parts of Holborn and Clerkenwell were like ghost towns; a lot of places were closed and those that were open were literally empty, with more than one barman looking desperate as we peered through the window as if pleading for us to come in.
At Kings cross we had cocktails and small plates in a really nice eatery called Caravan in Granary Square. Not cheap but very nice and lovely staff and ambience. Great smokey negroni made with mezcal instead of gin and added coffee of all things.

Kings Cross itself looked lovely after dark, lots of light shows. Uplifting in the dark midwinter.
Got this shot at Waterloo. Pleased with the composition.
Got another 20,000 steps in again. Good day. https://photos.app.goo.gl/6rjDDAWJqBAcrfuz7
