Christchurch to Auckland - end of the adventure

We’re home and the adventure is over. It’s been a wonderful ten days of spectacular scenery, challenging but enjoyable rides, good food and drink, and lovely people. We feel very privileged to have been able to do the Alps 2 Ocean Cycle Trail given that Omicron is lurking at the border.

We went to a café called Under the Red Verandah for breakfast, before heading out to the airport to catch our flight home to Auckland. Our lovely friends, Andrea and Rob, met the four of us at the airport. Andrea drove C and C home and Rob drove hubby and me home. What kind people.

There are 16 new community cases today. They are in Auckland (7), Lakes (6), Hawke’s Bay (1), Wairarapa (1) and West Coast (1).
