Outdoor Spaces

We spent time today adapting Betty's veranda into an outdoor space we can sit in comfortably. The snow is cleared of the transparent roof so it's a little lighter. The wall of snow at the far end has been constructed to help keep out the northerly wind. We experimented with old bamboo blinds and that also kept out the breeze.

The steps cut in the hard snow so we get up to Betty's easily have been improved, and more steps cut around the side so we get to this veranda without walking through the house.  Old snow is a wonderful building material, even if we haven't managed a whole igloo yet.
