Grim

This is a combination of an angry and a sad blip.

There was a significant diesel spill into the Esk over the last 36 hours. The fuel ran into the river from one of the small tributary streams.

It was a terrible sight with a wide film of fuel covering one side of the river and creating a large spill out into the Forth.

The SSPCA have been out to collect affected birds.

Thankfully the source has now been identified and the leak stopped but goodness knows the damage that has been caused over the last few days.
