The second half of life..

Mother Nature's force

The massive volcanic eruption in Tonga yesterday afternoon has literally sent shock waves around the Pacific in the form of a tsunami reaching the Northland and sinking some boats in a marina.  People in New Zealand also reported hearing a 'boom' around 2 hours after the eruption.  It's obviously a massive eruption but communications between Tonga and the rest of the world are non-existent as a consequence of damage to the communications infrastructure in Tonga.  Meanwhile, thousands of Tongans in New Zealand are left waiting, not knowing how their families are back on the Island.  My heart goes out to them all - Mother Nature has delivered another monster blow.  Let's hope that the only damage is to property and lives have not been lost.

Another warm day again today with no sign of any rain.  Time to add some [wo]man-made rain to the plants, many of whom are showing serious signs of stress.

I've been struggling to rectify an apparent lightroom disaster from last week and have been plugging away at it each day.  Then today - inspiration!  In just a few hours this afternoon I'm further along the road to success than I've been all week!  Yay :)  Fingers crossed it all works and my catalogue is returned to its former self........and with it, I hope also I've really learned the lesson that goes something like this:  back-up, back-up, back-up!

And with that, that's pretty much the end of the weekend. Heading into a busy week next week, but a good, positive sort of busy.

In COVID news today, there were 25 new community cases reported; 22 people are in hospital and 2 in ICU.  Additionally, 1 border worker has tested positive for Omicron.  His close contacts have all tested negative so far.  Other close contacts are being contacted - could this be the viral spark that ignites the Omicron fire in NZ....?
