A Woldingham Goat
This stunning goat was only too pleased to see us as we went for a long walk this morning around Woldingham.
Sir Robert Clayton, who later became Lord Mayor of London, bought the estate from a relative of the diarist John Evelyn. When Evelyn visited him 5 years later he was "much pleased"with the walled gardens, the incredible solitude and plantations of trees which had transformed the landscape.
We only walked for 5 miles or so but it was so good to be outside in the sunshine and blue skies, long may it last.
