Sunny Sparth

The girls had planned a dip in Sparth today. I wasn’t sure whether to go as it is a bit of a trek, but last night I decided I would. I knew that if I saw pictures I would regret not going.

The drive over the tops at Saddleworth was glorious in the sunshine. We met at Marsden and walked along the canal to the reservoir. The water was as smooth as glass and absolutely freezing. I always get pain in my upper arms with the cold, but once they go numb I’m alright. It was wonderful. The company was lovely, it was a shame Victoria was working though.

I had a quick hot drink in the cafe on the canal with the girls, but I had to leave them to their food as I was meeting Pat and Ellen. I raced home then walked to meet them and we had afternoon tea at George’s for Pats birthday.

Pat and I walked back through the woods in the dark…but we were ok as I’d shown the girls how to use a Harry Potter spell to turn our torches on the phones. Ellen and I said Lumos and the torch went on and Nox and it went off. It was hilarious as every time Pat tried our torches went on but hers didn’t. Maybe it was hilarious because of the fizz we had had. Anyway, who cares as the day was splendid!
