Cnoc Meá
Visiting M+F in Clonboo, Co Galway for the weekend. Went for a walk up a local Hill, Cnoc Meá, this afternoon and then down to the shore of Loch Corrib later to watch a small murmuration of starlings settling in the evening light..
The cairns at the summit of Cnoc Meá (Maeve's hill) are reputed to be the resting place of Queen Maeve, the feisty queen of Connacht, and at the same time Cnoc Meá is supposed to be where the king of the Connacht fairies, Finvarra, held his court. It's certainly a nice view from the top and today's blip is the view to the west over Loch Corrib from the summit cairns.
