Surrey…
We’re waiting for our lunch in The Volunteer, Abinger and on our way there, I finally got a photo of this clock! Usually it’s not been convenient to stop.
“The clock which overhangs the main road portrays the figure of “Jack the Blacksmith”, who strikes the hour with his hammer. ... The clock was given in memory of the first Lord Farrer of Abinger Hall who died in 1899. The clock represents the iron industry and the role played by the county of Surrey in the industrial past”
We visited our Dubai friends’ lodge to see if some work has been done….not. But we met a man who lives on the site who knows a man who could help, and we’ve left with a spring in our step. We’ll have to pass it by our friends first of course.
A dull day and the morning was quite misty but I did the park run and got a PB! My first for a while. I met an 82 year old gentleman and we sort of ran together. He was a real motivation. A good start to my running year. 3 runs this week.
A happy day! And lunch has arrived…!
