Bankside
A short walk through the industrial part of the Forth and Clyde Canal this afternoon. Of course, much of the Canal in its heyday was surrounded by, and used by, industry but it's more known as a location for leisure today.
My walk was a 'there and back' from Lock 7 to Lock 4 in Falkirk, about a mile in each direction, and this photo was taken near Lock 4, now with small industrial units and distribution centres on either side.
Locks 1 - 3 are at the Kelpies and there is series of locks in fairly close proximity between Lock 6 and Lock 16 at Bainsford and Camelon, and it's fair to say that this 'in-between' stretch at Bankside is not one of the more scenic parts of the Canal. Nevertheless, it's good to still have it navigable and also available as a place to walk or cycle.
