Sometimes it Snows in April
Today was the bleakest of days - it snowed and sleeted throughout the journey to Herne Bay in Kent where we were heading for a family funeral.
Although it was a very sad day it was also a celebration of the great long life of the sweetest, kindest woman. She sent me a prayer card depicting the grotto at Lourdes when my first child was born, so I was touched to find, outside the church where the funeral took place, a replica of the very same grotto. The snow eased for a moment as I took this picture.
It was a lovely warm family gathering despite the snow showers. There was a distinct layer of snow on the downs in the south east by the time we were heading back westwards, but there was a stunning sunset as we drove through the Chilterns, boding well for a change in the weather.
