Back to Planet Nebula
The school Evan and Bella attend has, as of today, returned to online status only. In their school district with over 40,000 students, two hundred teachers are out sick, presumably with Omicron, and there are only 50 substitute teachers available. They are hoping to return to in-person school in a week or two. Next week their dad is scheduled to be doing sound for a concert in Mexico. We’ll see how that goes.
Evan and I had a Baba Day scheduled, and he wanted to spend our time on Planet Nebula today. He has been developing his ideas about the planet since the last time we met. New “facts” include the following: there is no hurting on Nebula; there are no bad dreams; and the only troubles are some self-propelling rocks that have to be neutralized because they are annoying. If the rocks hit you, they don’t hurt, but they do get in the way of I, Is, Zip, and the dog. Zack, who lives there full-time, has special powers. He can grant wishes, he can fly very fast, and he generates a special kind of lightning that shoots out of his feet and his ears, rather like fireworks.
