Crossing the East West Divide

We had a choice of events this weekend. Both were similar distances from home. We decided to try a new area Penrith Beacon as opposed Blackamoor near Sheffield which we know is tough terrain. 

We picked up some cheap accommodation so are staying a couple of nights to combine competing and walking. 

As we crossed the Pennines the sun disappeared and was replaced with mist. Fortunately it was a bit brighter as we descended the other side . We called in at Lowther Castle to let Jet have a decent walk. Lots of people enjoying the grounds.

We really enjoyed our Italian meal in Carlisle this evening. It was one of the best Italian meals we have had. The well distanced tables and friendly staff added to the experience.
