Packwood House
We met Chris and Jean at Packwood House, the National Trust property near Solihull. As we were driving the weather was foggy and cold but nearer Packwood the mist cleared and the rest of our time there was sunny and clear, though still cold. We started with coffee and soup, mushroom, warm but a bit thin, though with a good chunk of bread. Most of the people at the café were sitting indoors, we sat outside after the waiter dried off the seats, though the metal chairs were a bit cold!
Then we took a walk to the lake, frozen over, and along the avenue of trees running from the lake end to the roadside gates. The picture is of Ann and Jean ahead of us on the walk.
On return, after a look round the nursery and shop, C&J left and we had another little walk across the muddy fields.
Driving home we ran into the mist again, it seems we were just lucky at finding a clear spot for a day out.
