Monkey

We had always wanted to visit the '10,000 Monks Monastery' in Sha Tin, and finally decided to go for it when our daughter decided the rooftop 'Snoopy World' was no longer her cup of tea. Heh ho, another sign of her growing up. We managed to make a total mess of getting there, and first ended up in a nearby temple that was strangely under-reported in our guidebooks. Fortunately we persevered and was rewarded by a lovely vegetarian late lunch. Unfortunately, the heavens then totally opened up and we were stranded there for about 30 minutes until it was safe to come down the hill. On our way out a bunch of monkeys appeared and from the reactions of the monastery staff, they were definitely not meant to be a tourist attraction.

So I do feel somewhat guilty posting this picture of one of the monkey babies enjoying his vegetarian meal on top of one of the monk statues.
